Gak Recipe tutorial

Materials:
5 oz. Paper Cup
50 mL of Glue Solution (6 parts Elmer's glue : 4 parts water)
1 teaspoon of Borax Solution (use 1 tablespoon of Borax for each 1 cup of water)
Food Coloring
Zip lock bag

Safety:
Borax, sodium borate, is moderately toxic in quantities of more than one gram per 1000 g of body weight. Wash any borax from the hands with water. Wash hands after handling the slime. DO not allow Gak to remain on clothing, upholstery, or wood surfaces. The Gak will stain or mar the surface. Clean up any spilled Gak immediately.

Procedure:
1. Obtain a clean paper cup.
2. Add 50 ml of the glue solution to your cup.
3. Add 3 drops of your favorite food color. Stir well.
4. Add 1 teaspoon of borax solution to your cup and stir. The contents of the cup should begin to thicken. Continue to stir for a couple of minutes and then remove from the beaker. The substance will be sticky at first, so knead it in your hands until it becomes more rubbery. Kneading under hot water will give the best results.
5. Store Gak in a sealed Zip lock Bag.

The Gak should stretch and flow easily, but it will tear if pulled hard. The Gak will dry out and become less stretchy after handling. It can be re-hydrated by mixing with a small amount of water before storage.
